vocabulary:

Filter-Optical accessory used to cut out certain wavelengths of light and pass others: consists of transparent medium and coated or dyed with material that selectively absorbs certain colors.

Zoom-lens: type of optical instrument in which focal length or strength of the optic may be varied without substantial change in focus.

Lens-Transparent material shaped to focus light in order form an i

Image-Visible product of a system capturing and recording a representation of a subject based on the energy radiation emitted by or reflected from it.

Aperture-usually circular, that limits the quantity of light that can enter an optical instrument.

Exposure-Process of allowing light to reach light-sensitive material to create latent image: by either opening shutter to expose film or illuminating dark subject with flash of light or energy.

Depth of field-Measure of zone or distance over which any object in front of lens will appear acceptably sharp: it lies in front of and behind the plane of best focus

Focal length-For SIMPLE LENS: distance between centre of lens and sharp image projected by it.
